We drove all the way from Crystal River back to an Orlando pit-stop via a particularly pretty fishing village called Cedar Key.
The buildings were mostly old wooden and ‘traditional’ and had those wide verandas on the outside of the upstairs floors. Cedar Key is pretty much off the beaten track and would now appear to be mostly for the tourist, we actually had to do a 50 mile detour (that = 25 miles there and 25 back – one road in and back out) to get there, but it would have been good to stay there for at least a couple of nights and kayak or canoe out and around the islands off the coast – there never seems to be enough time!
